In 2004 I was elected as Sheriff of Licking County to look out for the best interest of the office as well as the community, and I have done just that. I have not backed away from tough decisions, I am engaged with the operations and needs of the office and the community and I do not take time away frommy duties to pursue any personal business adventures.
Since taking office the staff has worked hard to establish an organizational culture that is client driven. The citizens and those we work with have an expectation to receive professional services and to be treated fairly with respect and dignity. In a very short period of time, through re-organization, we increased the number of deputies assigned to our patrol division by ten, and added a detective to drug investigations with no additional funding. . We have established proactive programs to protect those in our society that may be vulnerable to acts of crime or violence. Our Internet predator program educates children and parents of the dangers relative to Internet predators, our senior programs initiative provides assistance and education to serve and protect senior citizens from those who would take advantage of them.
We have worked hard to keep the Sheriff’s Office budget in check and have successfully accomplished that without asking for additional funding and returning nearly a half million dollars to the general fund at the end of 2007. I am honored to have the opportunity to serve the citizens of Licking County as your Sheriff for another term. I would like to thank all of the hard working individuals who worked on and contributed to my successful campaign victory. I will continue to work for you and to serve your best interest while providing for the safety and security of our community.
