-         Accomplishments

o       Successfully reorganized the staff in placing more deputies on Patrol, in the Detective Bureau, and in the Drug Enforcement Task Force, all without seeking additional funding

o       Implementation of electronic sex offender registration notification

o       Created online sexual predator investigation squad

o       Created online sexual predator awareness program presenting the dangers of online predators to schools, parent groups, private business, and various civic organizations

o       Successfully upgraded the Licking County Sheriff's Office web page making information, such as the inmate information, more accessible to the public

o       Currently installing automated phone system that will provide information, which is vital to the inmate’s families, such as court dates, release dates, and commissary account information

o       As a member of 9/11 Steering Committee, accomplished interoperability of communications and secured funding for new mobile radios for all public safety agencies

o       Upgraded equipment in Patrol Division to included new cruisers, radar units, stun guns, and shotguns

o       Effectively led the Sheriff’s Office to reaccreditations by Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, National Commission on Correctional Heath Care, and American Corrections Association

o       Introduced the S.T.O.P.P.E.D program which is a program established to reduce traffic fatalities for the 16-21 year old age group

o       Developed programs to assist Licking County senior citizens which include Project Lifesaver, several other senior related programs, and the assignment of a full-time Deputy as Senior Program Liaison

o        Established Citizen’s Academy, which familiarizes attendees with the operations of the Licking County Sheriff's Office and provides then with information to safeguard their families and their homes

o       Hired a budget director to closely monitor the Sheriff’s Office budget. This has resulted in the office not seeking additional funds and at the end of 2007, approximately $500,000 was returned to the general fund
